we present to our essentials guide, edition 1, which is all about baby-friendly (& most importantly, beautiful!) coffee tables. this was born out of our lived experience in seeking the perfect new coffee table once our little ones became mobile. anyone who has gone through this stage knows that you start to look at furniture differently. here, we prove that it can be the start of something great.

1. blob table, by gustav westman
handmade of wood in sweden, finished in a semi-matte smooth lacquer. notice the rounded corners and grounded nature of this work of art. this table will not budge against the wildest of toddlers and they will love the rainbow palette you get to choose from. gustav westman is not afraid of color and we are here for it. if we could all just live in his world, life would feel jolly & surreal perpetually. exactly what this life calls for.

designed by cecilie manz, this nanolaminate & powder coated steel table is feather light & smooth to the touch. available in four colours, and three sizes (plus a half-size side table). the airy table has a neutral look that is bound to be timeless.

we couldn't choose between the next two rattan tables so we are leaving it to you!

how much do we love all things HAY? an exorbitant amount! today's rey table is based on the original collection designed by swiss designer bruno rey in 1971. lucky for us, it has been relaunched and comes in five fun colors, including deep black, slate blue & umber brown.

furniture that can grow with you and your changing needs brings an element of sustainability to your home, like with the bellwood table. this table stood out to us as it can accommodate most budgets at $362 CAD and most of all, offers plenty of storage and application options! where & how will you style it?

last but definitely not least, our lowest budget option, the borgeby coffee table. simple & practical in all the best ways, this coffee table is the perfect gateway to a life of minimalism.
